Description
Advocates to increase awareness about gluten intolerance and celiac disease/dermatitis herpetiformis. Some materials are available in Spanish. Gluten Sensitive Enteropathy includes celiac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis. In these hereditary immune system disorders, protein fractions in wheat, rye, and barley set off a chain of events that lead to tissue damage. These products must be avoided in the diet. GSE is a multi-system disorder. Some individuals have an adverse reaction when eating gluten products and show improvement when following a gluten-free diet. This is known as non-celiac gluten sensitivity. Publishes the GIG electronic news magazine and other materials for patients, the public and health care providers.
