Offers educational programs to students who are still in high school.   Running Start -  Allows high school students the opportunity to earn high school and college credit at the same time, with low cost or free tuition.   -  Must be a high school junior or senior at a public high school in Washington state -  Can attend either part time or full time.   Cascadia in the High School -  Dual enrollment program that allows high school students the opportunity to earn college credits by taking college level classes at their high school.   -  Students must be enrolled in a participating high school and meet specific course requirements and prerequisites.   -  The classes are taught by a high school instructor who has been approved by the college.    Tech Prep -  A partnership between Seattle Colleges and local high school districts allows select high school career and technical education classes to count for college credit. -  Cascadia currently offers 12 courses for credit through local high schools, taught by the high school teachers. -  To earn college credit for these classes, students must register for the course through Tech Prep and earn a grade of B or higher. - Registration must occur before the student completes the course.

Conducts career and technical programs, including business and vocational courses, at each high school.   District-wide courses with transportation are provided to the W. A. Anderson Vocational Facility.   Courses are also offered at Lake Washington Technical College.   Emphasizes real world, 21st century skills. Concentrates on STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) subjects.

Allows qualified high school juniors and seniors to enroll in college courses tuition-free.   Credits earned at Green River College are transferable to most four-year colleges and universities, and can satisfy high school graduation requirements.   Students may enroll simultaneously in high school and college classes, or exclusively in college classes.

Offers two-year degrees, short-term certificates and courses for career preparation and those planning to transfer to a four-year college or university. Also offers two bachelor of applied science degrees, in Hospitality Management and Sustainable Building Science Technology.

Offers career preparation at 8 high schools, 5 middle schools and the Puget Sound Skills Center (PSSC). Career & Technical Education (CTE) provides students with the academics, technical skills, knowledge and training necessary to succeed in future careers and to become lifelong learners, with an emphasis on real-world, real-life skills. Students in 9th-12th grade may enroll in courses providing exploration, skill development and preparation for specific occupations in a variety of career fields, including business and marketing, information technology, electronics, culinary arts, graphics, construction, American Sign Language, material science technology and engineering technology.   More specialized and in-depth instruction is offered to 11th and 12th grade students at PSSC, including an exploratory summer program for grades 9-12. Some career and technical courses offer college credit while in high school.

Provides the following extension education programs:   Access UW Waives tuition for Washington residents 60 years or older who wish to attend classes as auditing students. If you are enrolling as an ACCESS student you may attend class with the permission of the instructor, beginning the first class day if space is available.   Distance Learning Courses Allows students to take a 6-month study at home for credit or personal enrichment. Offers wide variety of languages, writing, business and other academic courses; some are appropriate for high school students. Many courses are available via e-mail and Internet.   Evening Credit Program Coordinates evening courses at both graduate and undergraduate level that are taught by regular UW faculty and approved lecturers. Locations vary by program.   High School Students Program Administers a program for high school students entering 9th through 12th grades where they may be able to earn college credit. Courses include world languages, English, mathematics and geology.   Lecture Discussion Series Coordinates lecture services of distinguished experts in a variety of fields. Sometimes presented in conjunction with not for credit courses.   Not For Credit Classroom And Certificate Courses Coordinates a variety of academic, personal growth and professional development courses. These courses are often on a schedule reflecting the University quarter system. Additionally offers planned programs of study for professional development and personal interest. Programs are designed by University of Washington faculty and practicing professionals. Locations vary by class and program.   Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) Invites adults over age 50 to come together to share intellectual interests and make new friends. Current and retired UW faculty and community experts lead short courses in numerous subjects.

College in the High School: An alternative to Running Start, capable high school students take college-level courses while remaining at their high school. Credits appear on a North Seattle College transcript as well as on the student’s high school transcript. Courses are taught by selected high school teachers whose qualifications match those of typical North faculty members. Tech Prep: A partnership between Seattle Colleges and local high school districts ensuring high school students have the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school, as well as explore career choices. Classes vary by high school and are connected to possible career pathways.

Allows high school juniors and seniors to take college-level courses that will apply to their high school level requirements as well as give them college credits. A five-credit college course equals one high school credit. Students can earn up to two years of tuition-free college credits while finishing high school. A maximum of 18 college-level credits may be funded per quarter.

Offers both credit and non-credit classes, including adult basic education, Running Start and continuing education. Also offers business and career education classes and online classes.
