Administers the Jobs for Veteran State Grant program, a nationwide program designed to provide assistance to veterans transitioning from one career to another. Provides counseling, resources, employment connections, community partnership advocacy and virtual tools to assist in meeting the veterans’ preferred transitional career goals. Gives veterans and their spouses priority access to WorkSource services, including the following: -  Job listings, job referrals and hiring events for private sector, city, state and Federal careers -  Job coaching for resume, application perfecting, strategies for success, wage negotiations and interviewing assistance -  Use of computers, photocopiers and phones onsite -  Skill assessments and referrals to training and other resources   In addition, the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program provides intensive case management and employment readiness services to transitioning service members, veterans and qualifying spouses with significant barriers to employment.   Local Veterans Employment Representatives Conduct outreach to employers to promote the recruitment and hiring of veterans; partner with Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Commerce to implement employer campaigns to hire veterans and inform federal contractors on process and requirements for recruitment of veterans.

Offers multiple support, education, and socialization groups. Peer coaches empower people to achieve a solid recovery foundation and achieve life goals. Peer coaches support individuals in recovery from: - Addiction Issues (chemical/behavioral) - Mental Health Challenges (short/long term diagnosis, grief & loss) - Chronic Illness (HIV/Hep C – Newly Dealing/Newly Diagnosed) Peer coaches are individually matched with people seeking support in their recovery. The matched pair meets for one hour per week for 26 weeks. Coaches are individuals in recovery who have reached long-term stability. Peer Employment Connections Offers weekly peer support groups that support participants to address fears and barriers about returning to work or work through obstacles they are encountering in their job. Offers vocational assessments, job search tools, resume building, interview preparation, coaching, benefits planning, employment-related clothing and transportation support, and ongoing support for job retention. Resource Connections Offers individualized support to identify and access a range of community resources such as housing or medical care. Participants meet one-to-one with a peer to help make the linkages to essential supports.

Acts as a direct referral from DSHS Community Service Offices for refugees new to the system who need employment services. Focused primarily on computers and iPad/iPhone use, this course meets weekly to instruct adult and elder clients on basic technology use in order to help them develop skills necessary for employment and day-to-day needs and opportunities. The course also teaches clients to use technology and social media to maintain communication, navigate around the city and stay connected with their community. Our clients are given new means to assimilate to their new home. This, along with the relationships forged among clients and volunteers, helps build confidence and prevents the isolation common to immigrant communities. In the iPhone/iPad section, clients learn to optimize its functions, which includes image sharing, translating text, apps downloading (i.e., Zoom, app’s function), map utilizing, storage managing, etc. The Digital Literacy section includes a bilingual Vietnamese and English computer manual, which provides a comprehensive understanding of the basic computer functions and tips to becoming familiar with the computer programs

Integrates career planning, job search training and job referral services through college and career centers at several alternative schools and small schools.   Students receive advice on post-high school options, including:   -  Career and technical education -  Preparing cover letters and resumes -  Completing job applications -  College applications/scholarships   -  Selecting colleges    A job-listing service is available for employers who would like to hire students.
